First Assault

Mors asked the party to examine a small tiefling supply depot/fort/outpost not too far from the rebel camp. They agreed, after a few days of rest. At the camp, the party also met Aleksander Delshazior, Bunden Bravedig, and the Waynesterr, additions to the group.

A subset of the party set out to examine the tiefling fort. Aleksander Delshazior, Ytaexeeloo, Hooch, Bunden, Waynesterr, Sithis and Cyril were all present. After seeing a well-defended front gate and no other apparent entrances, the party decided to create a diversion and draw some of the tieflings out to fight. Ytae set a fire around the back of the fort and the party waited for the tieflings to respond. Two small groups were quickly sent out to look at the threat, and handily dispatched by the PCs. Over the course of the fight, Waynesterr sliced a tiefling into thirds with a critical hit, Sithis turned one into a pile of ashes and a pair of boots with a well-placed shocking grasp sneak attack, but the greatest honors go to Hooch.

The minotaur, enraged with a particular tiefling that targeted him more than once, bull rushed the tiefling into the fire. After pushing the tiefling in, Hooch jumped in after him and grappled with him in. the. fire. The enemy was, naturally, quickly dispatched. Another group was sent from the fort and just as easily killed, though Ytae did have to chase down one that tried to escape back to the fort interior. After the two fights, the group decided to retreat and rest a bit while they determined a plan for entry.

How they got here.

The party met in The Dragon & Goat in Landsgate, a bar Ytaexeeloo worked at as a bouncer. With some previous associations and some merely looking for work, they decided to look around town. Finding Valsov the Odiferous, a wizard of some repute, and agreed to fetch some magical herbs from the swamps nearby. Though Cyril was nearly killed by stirges while on watch, they succeeded and even helped protect a timbering caravan in the process. They decided not to seek further employment with “Smelly Man,” as Hooch called him, and ended up speaking with a woman named Chadran at The Dragon & Goat. A former freedom fighter in Emerlyn, she fled west when she was nearly captured by Valhedrin authorities. She had been looking for some adventurers to send back to make up for her absence (and then some), and this party seemed like an excellent choice… minus Veril. Fortunately, he convinced her to trust him, and she assigned the party a preliminary mission. They needed to kill a small group of Tieflings staying at The Sun & Stars, a far nicer inn, before the Tieflings could report the next day to their superior, The Steel Claw. After examining the inn and its surrounding area thoroughly, the party settled on a rather complicated plan involving Ytae blocking the door, Veril shooting an arrow into the window, and Sithis throwing a man out the window while Edelbrock waited below.

Setting the tone for much of the rest of the campaign, it worked /quite/ well.

That accomplished, the party traveled to Emerlyn to meet with Chadran’s cousin Aerith. Upon arriving, Aerith asked them to carry a message to another leader, Mors. Though it was a long and frustrating journey through the swamp, the party succeeded. There, Mors gave them another mission…

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
